How to Drive


To Obtain a Driver's License

Your international driver's license is valid for one year from the date of issue. If you want to continue to drive after that, you will need a Japanese driver's license. If you have a foreign driver's license and stayed for at least three months in total in the country of issue, you have only to pass an aptitude test to get it converted into a Japanese license. In Japan, as in the UK, you drive on the left-hand side of the road.
